Your Support Staff at ASEPCO

The ASEPCO team members below are the ones you most often get on the phone when you call. Each of them is backed by dozens more, in shops and offices around Silicon Valley. These “voices on the phone” are also supported by our three interlocking advisory groups: ASEPCO’s Industry Advisory Board, our Science Advisory Board, and our Founders’ Advisory Board. We are constantly getting input from them as well as you to guide our designs and service.

The most important member of our team isn’t even on this page! That person is YOU! Without you, we wouldn’t even be here.

We take our work very seriously... but we still take time to laugh and enjoy time with each other.

Otis

Official Mascot:

“Otis is Asepco’s new mascot. He has excellent communication skills and he enjoys chasing balls, shredding boxes, logs, pretty much anything that looks like it might be fun to chew on, and he also enjoys bird hunting.”

Steve Joy

President & CEO:

“I am very excited to be part of a small company like ASEPCO again, a company that has a great brand ~ a great reputation ~ and is very responsive to a changing market.”

Rolf Eskelund

Chairman of the Board:

“I grew up in Shanghai and have lived and worked around the world for over 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry, now I’m settling in the best place of all, Northern California. I am the Master’s Doubles Tennis champ at my club and an Advisor at ASEPCO. I enjoy working with young people, tracking our growth and sales performance, and always talking on the phone to our customers.”

“I appreciate that our young people are full of good ideas, and are working in a successful company.”

Mark Embury

Executive Vice-President:

“I enjoy my work and when I’m not working I like to watch movies, read books, play computer games, ride and work on motorcycles, and do home improvement projects. I am currently repainting and restoring a 1985 Honda VF1000R and am also remodeling the garage.”

“I enjoy the ASEPCO environment ~ interacting with people who are great to work with.”

Paul Trunzo

Sales and Business Development Manager:

“I grew up in working in the sanitary industry in western New York, moved to Colorado in 2005 to work for a biopharmaceutical hardware manufacturer, and now work for Asepco. It's refreshing to be a part of a team that is so
focused on their product line. My goal is to share the benefits of that
focus with our customers and make them part of the Asepco team.”

Walt Connolly

Chief Engineer:

Walt has been designing valves for decades. He once designed a valve for the oil pipeline that was so big it was shipped on a flat-bed railroad car. He headed the development team that designed our entire line of valves. With his high-pressure background, he is a stickler for quality construction.

Walt is the reason the valves are so rugged and robust. He believes that ASEPCO products should be as simple as they can be made to work, and no simpler.

Barry Hoffman

Customer Service Lead:

“In my off time I enjoy lifting weights, still listen to music like I’m 17, and tend to always be reading a book.”

“I enjoy working here because I get a lot of satisfaction helping my customers. It doesn’t hurt that I tend to be a people person and have a bit of a whacked sense of humor, which I believe makes the experience more personable.”

Joy Guise

Accounting & Customer Service:

“I’m proud to be a Mom. Having a family is the greatest gift (my husband Jim and our two wonderful children Jenny & Trey). I enjoy cooking and shopping with my children. I love working here at ASEPCO; being here is like working at home.”

“I like the scheduling flexibility at ASEPCO which allows me to spend quality time with my family.”

Stan Sumibcay

Production Expediter :

“In my spare time I coach my son’s little league team and on the weekends I love to play golf.”

“I like my co-workers and I hope to expand within the company.”

Randy Rivera

Shipping/Receiving:

“I do like basketball, watching movies, and cooking. I really like any kind of sports.”

“Working at ASEPCO has been an experience... a great experience.”

Terry Flanders

Design Engineer:

“Besides bothering my co-workers here at work, some of my recreational time includes the following: biking, hiking, gardening & BBQs in my yard, fishing, sports (Go 9er’s), restoring cars...”

“I like the people here at ASEPCO, they are good to work with.”

Fred Zelinsky

Database Systems Designer:

“I’m originally from Western Canada, and worked my way through college in Pittsburgh, PA designing steel mills. I have worked with leading companies in the medical instrument, motion control and computer peripheral markets, with roles in engineering and management, including general management. I turned to software development over ten years ago, to help get ‘friendlier’ computing power to smaller companies.”

“What I like about ASEPCO is that the focus is always on the customer. It’s a lot easier to develop your processes and your software when the bottom line is: Will this help our customers?”

Rosie Galban

Administrative Assistant:

“My family is the most important thing in my life. I enjoy going to the beach with my kids and having coffee with good friends.”

“ASEPCO is a new & great experience for me; the atmosphere & people make coming to work fun.”

Paul Otten

Manufacturing Engineer:

“When I am not trying to come up with better solutions and new products at ASEPCO, I am working on my 1954 Willys Truck and riding my dirt bike.”

Jim Ricker

Quality Control Inspector:

“I feel fortunate to have been asked if I would like to become an Asepcan. On my hours off I enjoy duck hunting and fishing.”
